Futura International Airways, SA, founded on November 28, 1989, is the largest independent medium-haul airline in Europe. Until November 2002, Aer Lingus owned 100% of the shares of the company.
From that date, the shareholder profile changed as a result of the purchase of shares by management, supported by Corpfin Capital, a private Spanish company leading venture capital.
Corpfin Capital subsequently owned 65% of the shares, Aer Lingus (Ireland’s national airline) kept its 20%, 15% belong to the management and other employees of the company.
In October 2007, the British fund Hutton Collins, owner of other Spanish companies took Everis future for 70 million euros, thanks to an agreement with Aer Lingus which increased its share from 15% to get the most.
It is currently in bankruptcy proceedings, and by not a viable plan will be declared technically bankrupt.The subsidiary “load” continues its activity, in addition staff will take Futura.
