The Football Club 08 Homburg is a football club from the Saarland. Nationwide, he was known by its league affiliation in the 1980s. In the 2011/2012 season of plays in the Oberliga Südwest FC Homburg.
Among the most famous former players include Werner Kohlmeyer, a member of the German national team that reached the 1954 world championships, and Miroslav Klose.
The FC Homburg was founded in 1908, but renamed in 1913 in FV Homburg. After re-renaming in VfL Homburg (1926) and Homburg, SV (1947), the society received its present name in 1958 FC 08 Homburg.
The first venue was the old sports field to the Castle Hill, later the club then moved to the Waldstadion.
The club was a founding member of the 2nd Southern League and came there regularly front seats. The results were associated with the person of the chairman Udo Geitlinger that the association partly financed with his personal assets.
In 1986, the FCH managed for the first time promotion to the Bundesliga.
