The club was founded in 1889 by a group of students. The only requirement for inclusion was the affiliation to the university. Between 1889 and 1903 the club took part in a competition in which the unofficial championship was held.
Already in the first season the new club could win a Danish championship. Seven teams took part at that time. It was played once against each.
With six wins from six matches AB Copenhagen was the most successful team, winning the title consistent. With 32 goals scored and only four goals against the team had the best goal difference.
The following year, you had to admit defeat Kjøbenhavns Boldklub, but could then achieve 1891/92 the title again.
