The airline was established on March 25, 1994 with the inaugural flight from Kiev to Tel Aviv, Odessa, Thessaloniki, Athens and Larnaca, in cooperation with Air Ukraine (Ukraine’s first national airline, went bankrupt in the 2000s).
In 1994, the airline began to hire a Boeing 737-200 for the flight to Moscow. The airline is also the first European airline to use Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand. After that, the airline is growing, both routes and fleet. In 1996, the airline became a member of IATA. In this same decade, the airline is adding Boeing 737nya, (2 pieces series -200 and -300 series 2 pieces).
Entering the 2000s, the airline is expanding more and more enterprising. They buy three Boeing 737-500 and 6 Boeing 767-300ER, making the airline the first aircraft carrier of this type in Ukraine. The airline also adds to its fleet with the Antonov An-148 as the prime consumers (launch customer).
