Unione Calcio Sampdoria is an Italian football club from Genoa. The club was created in 1946 by a merger between Sampierdarenese and Andrea Doria, which it owes its name.
The nickname blucerchiati (“blue-geringden”) comes from the dress, which consists of a blue shirt with a white-black-white horizontal path. Home games are alternately with city rivals Genoa, played at the Studio Luigi Ferraris.
In the first forty years of its existence, shuttled regularly between Sampdoria Serie A and Serie B. achieved her greatest successes the club from the mid eighties to mid nineties.
