Tranmere Rovers (officially: Tranmere Rovers Football Club) – or just short referred Rovers – is an English football club from Birkenhead located on the Wirral Peninsular in United Kingdom Merseyside metropolitan county. The club current plays in the Football League One, the third the highest English league.
The club was initially founded in 1884 as a merger of the Cricket Club Belmont CC and Lyndhurst Wanderers under the name of Belmont Football Club. After the first game in November of that year, then in blue jerseys and white pants, 1885, the association changed its name to Tranmere Rovers, after the eponymous district of Tranmere, Birkenhead, and moved for its home games, the stadium’s Steele Field.
The Tranmere Rovers denied in 1886 in the Liverpool & District Challenge Cup their first official match, earning a year later from Tranmere Rugby Club’s future venue at Borough Road.
In 1889, joined the club at the local West Lancashire League and appeared to play in blue trousers and brown and orange jerseys. Six years later, after a short time the league had again left the stadium in the still valid name Prenton Park was renamed.
The re-entry into the League football, however, brought a variety of adversities with him when the club was first deducted in the 1897/98 season due to the use of non-playing legitimate actor’s two points and just a year later; the continued existence of the club had to be called into question. All services in the Rovers players left standing in 1899 the club to join the Birkenham Football Club to join.
