Swindon Town Football Club is an English football club from the town of Swindon in the region of South West England. The club plays in the country’s third best league, the Football League One, and has home at the County Ground. The club was founded in 1879.
In season 1993-94 was Swindon in a single season up in the Premier League, which is its only appearance at the highest level.
The club was officially founded in 1881, although records exist under which it can not be ruled out that the club two years ago, so 1879 was created. In 1894 Swindon Town joined the new Southern League with a founding member and played there from then until the outbreak of World War II.
