Between 1951 and 1968 the club played 16 of the 17 seasons in Serie A with a seventh place as the highest position. After relegation in 1968 the club could not return to the top division and went up and down between the other divisions. In 1993 the club played last in Serie B.
SPAL 1907 is an Italian football club from the city of Ferrara, the capital of Emilia-Romagna. Stands for SPAL Società Sportiva Poli Ars et Labor. In 1940 the name was changed to AC Ferrara.
In 1962 the club reached the final of the cup and looked with SSC Napoli from Serie B is a bite-sized chunk to have lost but SPAL and Napoli is so far the only second grader who could win the cup.
In 2005 the club was refunded as SPAL 1907. The club currently plays in the Prima Davison A, the Italian third class.
