Rolls-Royce (RR) is the name borne by several companies, all derived from the construction of luxury automobiles and aircraft engines, founded by Frederick Henry Royce and Charles Stuart Rolls in 1904:
Rolls-Royce Limited: the original company, founded in 1906;
Rolls Royce plc: by far the most important in economic, produced especially for aviation turbines and a wide range of sophisticated products for civilian and military sectors. This division was separated from the parent company in 1971;
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Limited: manufacturer of luxury automobiles, owned by German automaker BMW Group since 1998, launched in January 2003 its first model: the Rolls-Royce Phantom. It is equipped with a V12 engine of 6.75 liters, an aluminum body (except composite front fenders and trunk lid cover steel) and an interior inlaid precious. The wheels have a diameter of 55 cm (21 “).
