The Richmond Kickers, a professional football club, was founded in 1993 as members of the System of Independent States Football League (USISL).
While USISL has gone through growing pains and changes the names for years, Kickers remain a cornerstone of the league continues to grow.
Some people have become a significant part of this organization, some players and some of the staff. All are important for the Kickers becoming what they are today: a model for U.S. Soccer and the 2006 USL Second Division Champions.
