PSV is a professional football club from Eindhoven. The football is like Philips Sport Vereniging founded on 31 August 1913 as a sports club for Philips employees.
It is now a club from the traditional top three of the Dutch professional football. At the UEFA rankings of the best clubs in Europe is the best Dutch club PSV Eindhoven in the year 2012 on the 21st place, just as in 2011. The home of PSV at the Philips Stadium.
For the 2009-2010 seasons has PSV head coach Fred Rutten as adopted. He was previously at PSV active as head of youth training and as an assistant coach under Guus Hiddink.
In 1910 a football team founded by Philips employees, the Philips Team. In 1911, the first game of the kickoff team was conducted by the then 5-year-old Frits Philips.
The field was then already in the same place where now stands the Philips Stadium. The Philips team played only friendlies.
On 31 August 1913, with the approval of Gerard and Anton Philips founded a new sports could be practiced where different sports, including football.
The association was founded by and for employees of Philips. The club colors were determined in red and white.
The Philips Team joined end-1913 with PSV. The Philips Team is regarded as a forerunner of the current PSV, the official founding date of the club is 31 August 1913. In the beginning, only Philips staff member, but from 1928 there were also people from outside the company with PSV sports.
