The football section of PAOK Salonika (whose official name is the Greek Panthessaloníkios Athlitikos Omilos Konstantinoupolitón and translated bythessalonicienne Athletic Association of Constantinopolitan) is a Greek football club based in Thessaloniki.
Founded in 1926 by immigrants from Constantinople, PAOK is one of four clubs that are part of the current elite to Greek football has ever known relegation since the creation of the first division in 1959. The club won two editions of this championship in 1976 and 1985, and four cups of Greece.
PAOK Thessaloniki is also renowned for some of the most fanatical supporters in Europe and is particularly supported by the “Gate 4″. The club maintains strong rivalries with Olympiakos Piraeus and Aris Thessaloniki and in fewer steps with Panathinaikosand AEK Athens.
