FK Nyva Ternopil is a Ukrainian football club from the city of Ternopil. The club was founded in 1978 in the city and moved in 1982 to Pidhaytsi Berezhany.
Three years later the club its current home in Ternopil. Nyva plays in the Central Stadium, which seats 18,500 spectators.
The club was co-founder of the Ukrainian first division in 1992 after the country became independent from the Soviet Union. After 2 seasons fighting relegation the club was 10th of 18 clubs in 1994, four years later was the best place to achieve shared 6th.

Then the club fought back against the degradation, a struggle which in 2001 lost. The following season in the 2nd class ended more dramatically, Nyva could only win 3 games and relegated for the 2nd year in a row.
In the 3rd class, the club also failed to impress and ended in the middle. A low point in the club’s history came in 2005 when Nyva last was not the club is relegated.
The following season was that embarrassment is put right with a 4th place. In 2009 the club was promoted back to the champion and second class, but was signed off last and relegated again.
