Nationwide Football League Football Vector Logo Soccer Download

The Football League Second Division was an English football competition. From 1892 to 1992 it was the 2nd highest league in English football system.

In 1992, the Premier League was established as an administrative division caused by the Football League. From 1992/93 to 2003/04 remained the second highest class in the Football League but in the English league was the 3rd highest class, the First Division was now the 2nd class.

It became even more complicated and after the 2003/04 season was the Second Division and the Third Division lifted. From then there was the Football League One and Football League Two.

The competition was established in 1892 after the Football League and the Football Alliance merged, most clubs were from the Alliance co-founder of the Second Division. The competition started with 12 clubs and at the end was doubled in 2004, below the enlargement.
