MVV Alcides is one of the four football clubs in Meppel, the other clubs are FC Meppel, MSC and SVN’69.
The club plays at the Sportpark Ezinge. Also the track of McDonalds AV The Sprinter is this sports complex. MVV Alcides was established in 1907 and is the oldest football association of Meppel.
On June 1, 2008 MVV Alcides promoted to the big C in the final of the playoffs with 4-0 win SC Erica.
Until the league season was the highest amateur class. The club missed the 2009/10 season promotion to the newly introduced Rated one plays so from that season on the second highest amateur level.
