The Luxembourg Airlines Company was founded in 1948 to mark the creation of the Luxembourg-Findel airport. It was reorganized in 1961 to help connect the Grand Duchy to European capitals: Luxair (Luxembourg Air Navigation Company Ltd) was born. In 1962, Luxair started operating flights to the adoption of the Luxembourg-Paris in Fokker F27 Friendship.
