Lincoln City is an English football club from Lincoln and founded in 1884. In 1891, the club professional. In the early years the club spent many years in the second class, with a fifth place in 1902 as best result.
Since the 60′s the club shuttled between the third and fourth class, with one season in the National Conference as an exception, when in 1987 the first club was relegated from the Football League.
From 2003 to 2007 knew Lincoln City for over five years in a row for the play-offs places, but none of the five times the club actually knew promotion to enforce. Lincoln City each year subsequently fell further in the final standings.
In the 2010/11 season the club finished in the penultimate position, thus relegated to the Conference National.
