Ikast FS is a Danish football club Ikast. The club was founded in 1935 and played in 1979 for the first time in the highest class and was tenth in the first season 16 clubs.
After a fifth place in 1980, the two seasons but less than herpakte Ikast again and was sixth. The following season the club stayed in the middle.
After a losing cup final against B 1903 in 1986, the club vice-champion in 1987, this was an outlier, the next seizoene the club fell back into the old pattern. In 1989, again reached the cup final, and this time was lost to Brondby IF.
After a third place in 1990 relegated the club in 1991. Ikast returned in 1993/94 and relegated again in 1995. After one season the club was relegated again but back connection.
The cup final was still a time met in 1997 but lost for the third time, this time against FC Copenhagen. In the second class was third in 1999 Ikast class mate Herning Fremad fourth.
Eltallen The first of these two associations were amalgamated and continued under the name FC Midtjylland (Central Jutland) and developed as one of the top of the highest class. The lower teams of clubs remained under the old name in the different leagues play.
