Hertha Berliner Sport-Club von 1892 (better known as Hertha BSC or Hertha Berlin) is a German football club from Berlin. The club is known for its remarkable history, its many loyal fans and a stadium is buzzing with history.

Prior to the 2006 World Cup to be held in Germany, was completely renovated stadium. This meant that the spectator capacity increased from the original 55,000 to 74,500. At the same time running the track color around the football field changed from red to blue to match the club colors.
After a single season in the second Bundesliga club player from 2011-12 again in the Bundesliga and its nickname is Die Alte Dame (Old Lady).

The club was founded in 1892 under the name BFC Hertha the 1892nd In connection with a merger with Berliner Sport-Club (BSC) was the current name in 1923. Hertha refers to a steamship with a blue and white chimney, as one of the founders had taken a trip and this trip gave the name as well as colors for the club.
Very early had Hertha sporting success with, among other victory in the first Berlin championship in 1905 and later final participation in the struggle for the German championship in six seasons in a row (1926-1931) who gave the victory in the last two.
Towards the end of the 1930s faded club’s results, and it was only towards the end of 1950 the club again showed good results.
