Avant-garde Russian football club from the Kursk, was founded in 1958.
The first season after the collapse of the USSR, the football club “Avangard” held in the second league, finishing the season in 10th place in 1992 in the 2nd zone.
In 1993, the Kursk players took 6th place in the Second Division 2 areas. But by the end of the season the team was still in the third league, where he returned in 1996.
In his first year after the return of “Vanguard” took 15th place in the area of the “Center”. This was the crowning achievement of Kursk players during 1996-2000. In 2000, the “Vanguard” has won the 8th place, an achievement he repeated in 2001.
In 2002 the team again took the 15th place, and in season 2003, took 13th place. However, 2004 was a turning point in the fate of the Kursk team.
