The Reial Club Deportivo Espanyol de Barcelona SAD (as in Catalan, Spanish: Real Club Deportivo Español), better known by the abbreviation Espanyol, is a football club in Barcelona, Spain.
Although at present there is only the football team, the club has the legal form of sports club, having had in the past also the sections of basketball, athletics and baseball.
The team did not win European titles, boasts 7 participations in the UEFA Cup, where she was a finalist in the edition from 1987 to 1988 (which eliminated both Inter Milan) and in the edition 2006-2007: in both cases lost the trophy on penalties, respectively, against Bayer Leverkusen (3-0 home, 0-3 after extra time away) and Seville (2-2 after extra time).
