The Columbus Athletic Club, also known as Colon de Santa Fe or only Columbus, based in the south of the city of Santa Fe participates in the First Division Tournament of Argentine football.
Played there since 1966, fell only once in 1981 and 1995 resgreso to First Division, playing it since then until the present. It was founded by a group of kids playing ball on a court which they called “El Campito”.
The most important achievements ware’s subsequent victories in friendly matches in the 60 against Santos of Pele, Club Atletico Penarol (for the last time world champion), Millionaires of Bogota, the Argentina soccer, where he played the star Boca Juniors, Rattin and Penarol of Montevideo.
Besides these achievements are owed to add sub-championships 1997 and 2000 at the hands of the likes of Cristian Castillo, Stephen Strong, Claudio Marcelo Saralegui and ret, among others,
Followed by CONMEBOL Copa shares (semifinals in 1997), Copa Libertadores de America (quarterfinals in 1998 and the first phase in 2010) and South American Cup (knockout round in 2003).
