In 2011 the club promoted again from the Superettan to the Allsvenskan, the highest division in Sweden. It takes in 2012 for the 17th season part in the highest class. Åtvidabergs FF is a football club founded in 1907 Åtvidaberg, Sweden.
The club was founded as Åtvidabergs IF (Idrottsförening), in 1935 the name was changed to FF (Fotbollförening). In 1951 the club played for the first time in the highest class but relegated immediately. In 1968 the club could return to 1976 and stayed in the top division.
The club was very successful in this period. In 1970 and 1971 the Svenska Cupen won and therefore also qualified for the Europa Cup II.
In season 1972/73 the club took part in the UEFA Cup. In 1972 and 1973 were the only country championships, with participation in the European Cup as a result.
