Ajax Amsterdam (also called Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax Ajax or AFC) is a Dutch football club created 18 March 1900 and based in Amsterdam, currently playing in the Dutch first division.
Its name comes from Greek mythology: Ajax was one of the bravest heroes of the Trojan War. Ajax is one of three big clubs in the country with Feyenoord Rotterdam and PSVEindhoven.
His record includes all three European trophies (Champions League, UEFA Cup and European Cup Winners’ Cup), performance that only Juventus and Bayern Munich have equaled. The club is publicly traded.
