AAHA is an association of providers of companion animals. More than 42,000 veterinary care providers for companion animals. About 3,200 animal hospitals voluntarily participate in the AAHA hospital evaluation program. Consultants regularly visit the hospital to ensure compliance with AAHA standards for services and facilities.
Standards developed and published by AAHA are widely accepted as representing those components of veterinary practice that represent high quality care. These standards are periodically reviewed and updated to ensure they remain consistent with science and technology is developing.
